I will admit it, I am a cliche “not without my coffee” kind of person. I feel lost without my morning cup.
Luckily, we live in a city that is brimming with an incredible coffee scene. If you’re like me, you tend to stick to what you know. I am not trying to go on an unpredictable adventure before I am properly caffeinated if I don’t have to. The problem is, I also love trying new places and finding new stand-bys.
Enter the solution to my problem: Yelp’s Ohio Brewed, a ranking of the top 100 coffee shops in Ohio, based on reviews.
What I like about this list, is that it speaks to the overall experience people have, so you know what you are in for when you visit a new spot. A collaboration between Columbus, Cleveland and Cinncinati Yelp Communities, the list itself has an incredibly wide range of shops. From small tucked-away gems to established staples, I have some new spots I need to check out.
The #1 ranked spot goes to Akron’s Artisan Coffee, and people LOVE this place. With 120 reviews and a solid 5 stars, I am excited to check them out the next time I am up that way. Don’t worry though, 14 Columbus spots made the list. To no one’s surprise, landing at #2 overall is Roosevelt Coffee House.

Here’s how Columbus stacked up:
#2 The Roosevelt Coffeehouse – 300 E Long St
Notable Review: “Employees were delightful, presentation was beautiful, and coffee delicious. The space itself is deceptively large with plenty of seating and cleanly decorated. I liked the little touches: the retro record player console, the antique sewing machine bussing station, and also big signage with some positive messages.” – Linda R
#4 Hemmingway’s Coffee Nook – 175 S 3rd St
Notable Review: “This is my new favorite coffee shop! It’s small and charming. The owner is so nice. I ordered an iced ‘ode to paris’ latte and my husband got a seasonal lavender latte and they were so delicious. Every drink on the menu sounded fantastic and so I will have to keep coming back!” – Marissa D
#13 Fox in the Snow Cafe – 1031 N. 4th St
Notable Review: “One of the cutest, most Instagramable coffee shops in and around Columbus. I love the transparency Fox In the Snow displays through their windows into the kitchen… it’s mesmerizing to watch the pastries be made. Their coffee is one of the best and Fox In the Snow always has a great playlist of music!” – Haylee B
#14 Upper Cup Coffee
#19 One Line Coffee – Short North
#26 Coffee Connections of Hilliard
#27 Mission Coffee
#28 Grandview Grind
#30 Luck Bros Coffee House
#36 Bexley Coffee Shop
#61 Brioso Coffee
#86 Boston Stoker Coffee Co
#96 Thirdway Cafe
#97 Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea
