The Acorn Bookshop Will Close Its Doors After 25 Years

After 25 years of business, The Acorn Bookshop in Grandview will close its doors.

The shop sold used books, ranging from hard-to-find antiques to paperback novels perfect for vacation. After decades of competing against big chain stores and online sellers, the owners of Acorn have decided to close up shop.

β€œIt is a very sad time for us, but as a New York Times article declared in their business section last week: β€˜E-commerce devours retail,’” owner George Cowmeadow Bauman told the Columbus Dispatch in an email. β€œWe’re getting out while the getting’s good.”

For the next two weeks, prices at the shop will be reduced by 25%. The two weeks following that, items will move up to 50% and for the final two weeks, prices will be 75% off.

If you want to take advantage of this going-out-of-business sale, you’ll need to stop by the book store. The Acorn Bookshop is located at 1464 W 5th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43212. For more information, you can visit their website here.

It’s the end of an era! Luckily, we still have a few weeks, so we can pretend like it isn’t really going out of business.
