Ohio’s Largest Lavender Farm Is Opening This Weekend

Rows of vibrant purple lavender are about to become one of Ohio’s prettiest summer destinations.

White Barn & Blooms Lavender Farm & Venue is officially opening in Butler County this weekend, and it’s already the largest lavender-producing farm in Ohio. The new destination is celebrating its debut with the In Full Bloom Festival on July 11 and 12, giving visitors their first chance to explore the fields during peak bloom.

Located on 50 acres in Ross Township, the farm has already planted 20,000 lavender plants, with plans to eventually grow that number to an impressive 100,000 bushes. It’s about a 90-minute drive southwest of Columbus, making it an easy day trip for anyone looking to soak up some summer scenery.

Visitors can stroll through the lavender fields, pick their own blooms, browse locally made lavender products, and sign up for hands-on workshops like wreath and lavender wand making. The farm also plans to host yoga sessions among the flowers on select dates throughout the summer.

Beyond the fields themselves, White Barn & Blooms has some ambitious plans.

The property already includes eight beehives—with a goal of expanding to 200—and the farm shop is expected to carry around 30 lavender-inspired products by the end of the year, including soaps, essential oils, infused honey, sachets, and even lavender-based insect repellent.

The farm’s founders have also partnered with lavender grower Victor Gonzalez, who has spent decades cultivating lavender in Washington state and is widely recognized for his expertise in the crop. He’ll help oversee the health of the farm’s plants while also using the property as a distribution hub for more than 20 lavender varieties destined for customers across the Midwest and East Coast.

Right now, visitors can see four different lavender varieties growing throughout the fields, each with its own look and fragrance—from the richly scented Grosso to the deep purple Royal Velvet and the softer pink-and-white Melissa blooms.

Future plans include greenhouse tours, wellness workshops, more U-pick experiences, and eventually weddings and private events. Visit for the lavender, the photo ops, or just because you want an easy summer road trip. Regardless, you’ll be in a floral heaven.
