One of Clintonville’s longtime vintage destinations is preparing to close its doors.
After 29 years on North High Street, Boomerang Room Vintage announced that it will close its brick-and-mortar storefront at the end of July as its owners slow down and focus exclusively on online sales.
“We’ve loved selling vintage and mid-century items on the same block in Clintonville for the past 29 years,” the shop shared on Instagram.
Boomerang Room’s roots in the neighborhood stretch back even further than its current storefront. The owners got their start in 1997 at Eclectiques Antiques before opening Boomerang Room in 2007, becoming a go-to spot for vintage furniture, mid-century décor and one-of-a-kind collectibles.
The closure isn’t the end of the business altogether.
Instead, the owners say they’re stepping away from retail while continuing to sell online.
Before the doors close for good, shoppers have one more chance to browse the store’s collection. A retirement and liquidation sale is already underway, with 25% off merchandise and expanded store hours planned for July.
The change also marks a new chapter for neighboring Atomic Shop. The vintage retailer announced it will expand into Boomerang Room’s space at 3276 N. High St. after the store closes.
“Our wonderful neighbors at The Boomerang Room are retiring after 20 amazing years of bringing some of the coolest vintage treasures to Clintonville,” Atomic Shop wrote on Instagram. “This is the end of one chapter and the beginning of an exciting new one.”
According to Atomic Shop, the expanded storefront is expected to open on Sept. 1.
For now, Boomerang Room remains open Fridays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. throughout June, with additional July hours expected to be announced as the shop prepares to say goodbye to its longtime home.
