Icarus Sandwiches In The Short North To Open On Saturday

The Owners of Fox in the Snow are launching a new venture.

On Saturday, October 30, Icarus will open its doors at 10:30 a.m. Icarus Sandwiches will be taking over the space in the Short North that formerly housed Laughlin’s Bakery, located at 15 E 2nd Avenue.

Founded by Lauren Culley and Jeff Excell, Icarus offers a small, but delicious, hand-crafted menu.

The meat will be prepared in-house, as will the fresh-baked bread, which makes total sense when you think about the attention to detail that Culley and Excell offer at Fox in the Snow. The first 20 people in line will receive free t-shirts and there will be free chips and dip for the first two hours of the grand opening.

The menu is simple at Icarus, with turkey sandwiches, Reubens, meatball sammies, and even a rotating selection of soft-serve ice cream.
