ComFest is back, Columbus.
After two years of virtual events, ComFest will return in June, just in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the festival. The Community Festival, aka ComFest, is a large, free, no corporate festival held here in Columbus. Community members work together to plan and operate the festival, which includes work like clean-up, recycling, safety & first aid, entertainment, kids art, and more.
The first ComFest was held back in 1972 as a showcase of local community organizations, including the Columbus Free Press, Free Health Clinic, Food Co-Op, Tenants Union, Crisis Hotline, and Recycling Center.
The festival announced the big return on Wednesday in a simple social media post. The 50th-anniversary celebration will be held from June 24-26, 2022, in Goodale Park.
Funds from the colorful beer mugs sold go to fund the cost of the festival and to raise money for community projects. To learn more about the festival or to stay up-to-date on any developments, please visit comfest.com.
