Winter Solstice Gathering at Antiques on High
Celebrate the Winter Solstice at Antiques on High on Wednesday, December 18th, from 4–8 p.m. Sip on craft cocktails, ales, mocktails, or wine while exploring tarot readings, aura photography, intention setting, entomology art, and natural stones and gifts. Street Thyme will be on-site serving up their signature burgers, fries, and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Winter Solstice Sunrise
Celebrate the shortest day of the year by watching the sun rise over Schrock Lake. Enjoy a camp fire, snacks and some information about the science and meaning behind this annual event.
Winter Solstice Hike
Celebrate the Winter Solstice on a 2.5 or 5-mile backcountry hike. Warm up with hot chocolate afterward. Both hikes will start together. This hike is being offered on two dates, Dec. 18th and 21st. The terrain at Clear Creek is rugged, steep, and uneven in places. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes. Participants should meet at the Park Office, 185 Clear Creek Rd in Lancaster.

Enjoy an evening of seasonal activities including painting, guided lantern walks, poetry reading by the indoor fire, hot chocolate bar/cookies, live music by the Worthington Chamber Orchestra Quartet, and winter/nature-themed crafts to make and take.

Winter Solstice Sunset Saunter
Take a 3-mile sunset stroll at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park and catch a glimpse of the park’s resident bison. Led by a naturalist, this walk is a great chance to see these incredible animals and enjoy the beauty of the park as the day winds down. Meet at the Ranger Station, 1775 Darby Creek Dr.

Winter Solstice Labyrinth Walk
When: December 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Although this event is typically on the solstice itself, it had to be rescheduled this year due to the Ohio State Buckeyes hosting a play-off game adWalking the candlelit labyrinth in Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens is a peaceful way to welcome winter. There will be an open fire, roasted chestnuts, and hot cocoa.
