Village Taco Is Closing Due To Financial Difficulties

After about a year and a half, Village Taco in Merion Village will be closing their doors.

The vegan eatery opened in February 2020 and for the first month, things were going well. “We set out to create a music venue, safe and accessible space for ALL people and beings,” reads an emotional post on Village Taco’s social media. “It was a magical start in February of 2020…absolutely magical.”

But like all restaurants, the struggle began with the start of the pandemic. Village Taco’s owners fought to adapt to the new normal, but after a long year, the owners have decided that it’s time to call it quits.

“The reality of not being able to use our stage and the amenities this property has to offer has ultimately put us into a position with no other choice,” the post continues.

The restaurant will remain open with regular hours for the next two weeks. In September, they will be open Friday and Saturday only. If you are interested in picking up some memorabilia from Village Taco, they’ll be selling all of their stickers for $1 and auctioning off other items like their blunt tap handles.

Village Taco is located at 1297 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43206. For more info or updates on the closure, you can follow Village Taco on Instagram.
