A Toilet Paper Prank In Upper Arlington Escalated Way Too Quickly

Remember when toilet papering someone’s house was just a goofy prank? Apparently, not anymore.

On September 5, a group of teens in Upper Arlington decided to TP a house on Nottingham Road. Pretty standard suburban mischief, right? But things escalated when the homeowner—a grown man—responded by aggressively driving his car toward the teens. In a video that later hit social media, you can even hear him making threatening comments about carrying a gun.

No one called 911 that night. But once police saw the video, they opened an investigation.

Fast forward a few days, and now charges are flying.

  • The adult is facing aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct, and reckless driving.
  • The five teenagers are being hit with trespassing charges, though their cases are being referred to the Juvenile Diversion Program.

The Upper Arlington Police made it clear that these charges aren’t about “who complained” but about what their investigation found. Their advice? If you see something that seems dangerous, don’t wait for a video to go viral—just call 911.
