The Wag Brings A Dog-Forward Social Space To Columbus

In a city that already knows how to spoil its dogs, a new concept is taking things to the next level. The Wag, opening November 15 at 1330 Norton Avenue in the Fifth by Northwest neighborhood, is part dog park, part neighborhood hangout, and entirely about connection — for both humans and their four-legged friends.

If the name Casie Goldstein sounds familiar, it’s because she’s the mind behind All Paws Retreat, the local daycare and boarding business that’s become a go-to for Columbus pet parents.

Her latest project takes that same love of dogs and channels it into a social space built for everyone to enjoy.

“The Wag is basically a 50-50 place,” Goldstein recently told NBC4. “Half of it feels like a regular bar or brewery where dogs can hang out on leash. The back half is where they can really cut loose.”

Inside, there’s a bright three-sided bar serving beer, cocktails, mocktails, and nitro cold brew. Outdoors, you’ll find a turf-covered dog park, garden seating area, and plenty of space to relax while the pups play. There’s also a grooming salon, pet shop, and private party area that can be rented for special events. Food trucks and Wi-Fi make it easy to settle in for an afternoon, whether you’re there to socialize or just soak up the atmosphere.

Memberships are required to use the space.

Standard access starts at $55 per month, while a VIP pass costs $75 and includes perks like a members-only drink menu, early-morning entry, and discounts on grooming services. Day passes are available for $15. Every dog that joins needs to be friendly, up to date on vaccines, and ready to make new friends — both canine and human.

Goldstein calls The Wag a “passion project” that’s been in the works since 2023, and it’s easy to see why. What started as a simple customer suggestion at All Paws Retreat has evolved into something much bigger: a space where dogs are the main event and their owners get a built-in community along the way.

The Wag officially opens to the public on November 15 from 5 to 10 p.m., and regular hours will run Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Whether you come for the craft beer, the company, or just to watch tails wag, this new addition to Columbus feels like a win for every kind of social animal.
