A New Bourbon Bar Is Opening In Grandview Heights This Summer

Bourbon lovers of Columbus will have one more fabulous place to grab a drink this summer.

Round II, a bourbon-focused bar, is already under construction at 1312 Grandview Ave., the former home of Balboa. The the taco joint closed for good at the end of 2020 and the owners hope to be reopening with the new concept this summer.

Both Round II and the Grandview Cafe are owned by Crafted For You. James Ball, director of operations for Crafted For You, told Columbus Business First that they’d like to see the new bourbon bar as an extension of Grandview Cafe, a place where patrons will go for round two.

Round II will shift the focus of the space from tequila and tacos to smoked meats and bourbon. The massive patio will remain at the location with a few minor changes while the interior is undergoing some serious renovations.

One of the biggest struggles for Balboa outside of the pandemic was the fact that the restaurant tended to do better in the summer, when margaritas on the patio tend to be a little more appealing. The owners are hopeful that the new bourbon concept will help keep people coming in all year long.

Round II is expected to open in June.
