But as we all know, this world isn’t perfect. So the very least we can do is spend this weekend treating our mom’s like fabulous individuals they are. It doesn’t matter whether your mom’s idea of fun is sipping on a glass wine, getting creative, or being pampered, there is no shortage of special events to celebrate Mother’s Day in Columbus.
What: The Zoo is full of moms and new babies, which makes it the perfect place to take your mom to celebrate! Grandmas and moms will receive free admission to the Columbus Zoo with a paid child’s admission.
When: May 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What: Ready to get a little physical this Mother’s day? Baby Boot Camp Columbus is hosting a special workout with snacks, sponsors, and fun.
When: May 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

What: The Glass Slipper will host their annual Mother’s Day Tea this weekend. The menu includes fruit and cheese, a variety of quiche, sweet treats, and tea. Reservations are required for this event. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children.

What: If there are two things I love its champagne and shopping. Since I’m 100% certain I’m not the only one, I’ll let you in on a little secret. Gypsy Soul Antiques will host a fun morning of mimosas and antique shopping. In addition to a special drawing for a Mother’s Day Gift Basket, the first 5 people in the door will receive a $5 gift card.

What: Head to the Pelican Room on Sunday for a special Mother’s Day Jazz & Brunch event. The party will feature live music and an all you can eat buffet. There will be two seatings, one at 11:15 a.m. and one at 2 p.m.

What: It’s time to get your skate on ladies! Tickets to the Mother’s Day event at Skate Zone 71 are $10 per person and include admission, skate rental, and unlimited cheese pizza. Mom’s get half-price admission with a full child’s paid admission.

What: Looking for the perfect place to take your creative mom? Studio 614 is hosting a 2-hour class for beginners. This paint and sip will have the image pre-sketched on to the canvas, so all you’ll have to do is pay attention to the artist instruction, bring a bottle of wine, and have fun! Tickets are $35.
When: May 13 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What: The Columbus Modern Dance Company is putting on quite the show at the Topiary Park for a whimsical and exciting Mother’s Day dance celebration. Tea and light refreshments will be served at intermission. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students/military, and $5 for kids under 10.
When: May 12 & 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

What: COSI is hosting a special event for mommas, with a delicious meal and the opportunity to create their own succulent masterpieces. Admission includes a brunch buffet, succulent arrangement, live entertainment, and access to COSI for the day.

Mother’s Day Carriage Rides and Photos
What: Easton Town Center is pulling out all the stops for Mother’s Day. Grab your mom and stop by the Central Park Fountain for free Mother’s Day photos. After that, you can hop into a horse-drawn carriage for a relaxing ride around Easton’s North District. Tickets for the carriage ride are $10 per person, with kids 15 and under riding for free with a paying adult.
When: May 13, photos from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., carriage rides from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

What: The Franklin Park Conservatory will be celebrating Mother’s Day all weekend long. On Saturday, you can release a butterfly into the Blooms & Butterflies exhibit for $5 or let your kids plant a flower for you in a planter they decorated themselves. On Sunday, there will be special visitors from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and a special Patio Sale.
When: May 12 and 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What: Show your mom how much you love her by putting your love into some art! All of your art supplies will be included in your ticket, as well as a meal from City Living Soul Food. Rats are $40 for a single participant, $70 for 2, and $100 for 3 people. Seating is limited and the event is first come, first serve.
