How does a magical rooftop date night overlooking the Scioto River sound?
Pretty darn fancy, right? Hotel LeVeque and The Keep are hosting a socially distanced night out atop the 10-story LeVeque Tower garage rooftop with incredible views of the riverfront and downtown Columbus.
The elevated picnic menu, crafted by The Keep’s Executive Chef Courtney Nielsen, will be perfectly paired with delicious drinks and live entertainment in the form of Hotel LeVeque’s magician in residence.
If you want to make a whole night of it, you can book a room at the hotel for the evening, with special rates for Magical Picnic guests.
“We wanted to give our guests some real magic and excitement,” Hotel LeVeque General Manager Geri Lombard said. “Events this year have made it tough on so many to keep up their spirits. But this spirited evening will really add sparkle, whether it’s a romantic couple’s night away, a social distanced girlfriends’ escape or a night out for a group of close friends.”
Guests will have a private distanced table reserved just for their group; however, guests will be responsible for adding some of their own magic. The evening will include a competition for most creative table decor that comes with a $50 gift card for the prize, so get crafty folks. Although tickets to the picnic don’t include alcoholic beverages, The Keep’s bartenders will be on hand serving up delicious signature drinks, wine, and beer, and all of the proceeds will benefit kids who are fighting cancer via NC4K.
Lombard added that the massive rooftop space not only offers a unique setting for the dinner, but also makes social distancing a breeze. Health protocols for the evening include social distancing, intense sanitation procedures, and masks for staff and guests when they’re not seated. There will also be minimized contact for ticketing (through Eventbrite) and digital QR code menus.
The Magical Picnic will take place on Friday, October 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $85 and you can get more info about the event here.
