I’ve had the pleasure of living in Merion Village for a good chunk of my life, and I’ve only had one complaint: we are lacking delicious, authentic Mexican food.
Luckily for me, and everyone else who lives, works, and visits the South End, that’s going to change very soon. Lupita’s is set to open its doors later this summer at 1586 S. High St., following in the footsteps of the numerous restaurants that have called this location home.
Taking over the space previously occupied by Explorer’s Club and Geordie’s, Lupita’s aims to bring an authentic taste of Mexico City to the neighborhood.
Behind the venture is a dynamic father-daughter duo, Eduardo and Natalia Escudero, who already own and operate El Patron Mexican Cuisine in Seville, Ohio, which means any patrons at Lupita’s will be in great hands.
Lupita’s will stay true to its roots, offering an enticing menu that highlights the distinctive flavors of Mexico City. To complement the delectable food, Lupita’s will also offer a carefully curated selection of beverages. Margaritas and palomas will grace the menu, crafted with precision and using high-quality ingredients.
As for the opening date, Lupita’s is currently aiming for a soft opening sometime in August. While the exact date is yet to be announced, I can attest that anticipation in the neighborhood is definitely building.
