Jurassic Quest And Brick Fest Live Bring Hands-On Learning To Columbus

Two well-known touring family events are teaming up for one weekend in Columbus, bringing dinosaurs and building bricks together in a single, shared experience.

Jurassic Quest and Brick Fest Live will run Feb. 27 through March 1 at the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds. With one ticket, families can explore both events at their own pace, moving between life-size animatronic dinosaurs, fossil displays, hands-on science activities, and large building zones made up of more than a million bricks.

At Jurassic Quest, kids can walk among life-size animatronic dinosaurs, some of which move and roar, while learning about prehistoric life through interactive exhibits. The event includes real fossils like T. rex teeth and triceratops horns, live dinosaur shows throughout the day, rideable dinosaurs, fossil dig areas, bounce houses, and a scavenger hunt-style activity where children can earn “Junior Park Ranger” badges.

Brick Fest Live offers a different kind of hands-on play, with large open build zones stocked with more than a million bricks. Families can build freely, take part in timed brick challenges, race creations down long derby tracks, and explore large-scale models built by professional and hobbyist builders.

The event also includes a glow-in-the-dark building area and a Guinness World Record mosaic challenge.

Organizers say the combined event is designed to introduce kids to science, engineering, and creativity through play, without feeling structured or instructional. Guests are encouraged to move at their own pace and spend more time in the areas that interest them most.

“Dinosaurs and LEGOs are prime entry points to introduce children to so many aspects of science, from biology and geology to engineering,” said David Taube, CEO of Family Quest Entertainment, which operates Jurassic Quest and Brick Fest Live. “By bringing together Jurassic Quest and Brick Fest Live for the first time ever, we’re giving families a chance to dive into the world of dinosaurs, hands-on building, and creativity – all in one action-packed day.”

The weekend will also include sensory-friendly “lights down, sound down” hours on Saturday mornings before doors open to the general public. Discounts are available for first responders and families with special needs. Additional details and tickets can be found through the Jurassic Quest website.
