If you’re always on the hunt for your next great read, there’s a new spot in town to get excited about. Blue Couch Bookshop, an independent bookstore, is getting ready to open its doors in Columbus this summer.
Located at 1445 Grandview Ave., the store will sit alongside local favorites like Trattoria Roma, Mazza, and Alchemy Kitchen. While an exact opening date hasn’t been announced, the shop’s social media channels say it’s “coming soon,” with a summer debut on the horizon.
Blue Couch Bookshop will feature a wide selection of new books across genres and subjects, plus curated gifts and more. The store is woman-owned and is also partnering with Libro.fm to offer audiobooks—giving customers a way to support local even when they’re on the go.
The shop will join a strong community of independent bookstores across the city. From the winding maze that is The Book Loft in German Village to the curated collections at Prologue Bookshop in the Short North, Columbus readers have long supported locally owned bookshops. Blue Couch Bookshop adds a fresh voice to this scene, especially for book lovers on the west side of town.
Independent bookstores like Blue Couch do more than sell books. They create space for discovery, connection, and community. Whether it’s through book clubs, author readings, or trusted recommendations from passionate staff, these shops often serve as welcoming hubs for readers of all kinds.
