The new state-of-the-art Hocking Hills State Park Lodge is officially open.
The exquisite new lodge was built to replace the former dining lodge that was destroyed in a fire back in 2016. The new facility is a two-story lodge with 81 overnight guestrooms, a full-service restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, and so much more.
The lodge officially opened to the public on October 8 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured speeches from the Governor and the director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, room tours, live music, and more.
“With the opening of new lodge reservations, Hocking Hills State Park enthusiasts have an opportunity to be some of the first guests at the new Hocking Hills Lodge,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “We are looking forward to providing Ohioans with another opportunity to spend time outside with family and friends, surrounded by the wonders of the Hocking Hills region.”
Outside, the decor of the lodge features rustic heavy timber elements, limestone accents, and a gorgeous, terracotta-colored metal roof.
The restaurant can host 95 guests with additional seating outside. But whether you’re indoors or outdoors, you’ll be able to enjoy sweeping views of the grounds and gorge area.
Speaking of views, the back of the property shows off some beautiful parts of the park and there’s even a Hemlock Bridge Trail overlook.
There are several different accommodation options at the lodge. If you are traveling with your family, you can opt for a room that comes with either a king or queen and a set of bunk beds or you can book a suite, which has a living area, a bedroom, and a kitchen.
Additionally, there are more standard guestrooms, including king bedrooms and double queen rooms. There are also a variety of accessible guestroom options.
One of the most impressive features of the lodge has to be the pool and hot tub areas. Guests will find a pool and a hot tub both indoors and outdoors, so you can enjoy splashing around no matter what the weather is like.
With the hotel accommodations and the special event venue, you can bet that the lodge is going to become a popular destination for weddings. The ballroom is intimate and elegant and there is also an epic outdoor space.
