Are you a hardcore thrifter? I’m talking waiting in lines, fighting over bins of items, and buying literal pounds of merchandise at a time. If so, then you’re in luck.
Goodwill Columbus has opened a new outlet store on the city’s east side. So what is a thrift outlet? Basically, all of the unsold items from Goodwill stores around the area gets sent to the outlet. Then, they put it into massive blue bins and it’s basically a thrifting free for all.
The items are sold by the pound, so it’s a chance to purchase clothing, shoes, houseware items, toys, books, DVDs, and CDs for next to nothing.
The outlet store is located at 2675 Brice Road, Suite B, Columbus, OH 43232, next to Front Room Furnishings. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
As with any thrifting adventure, caution is advised. Anyone who likes to dig for a deal knows that sometimes there can be broken items or jagged edges in the bins, so it’s important to keep your wits about you.
You should probably wear comfortable shoes as well. This isn’t’ a safety thing, it’s just that you’ll probably be on your feet digging through masses of sweaters and old prom dresses, so you may as well be comfortable while you do it.
