Once Again, Columbus Families Will Be Able To Chow Down On Iconic Dishes From The Florentine

Opened in 1945, the restaurant built a strong following in the city, quickly becoming known as the place to celebrate big milestones and gather with friends and family. In December 2016, The Florentine closed their doors at 907 W Broad St. for the last time.

While they were still selling their retail products, their fan following never quite went away. And now, those clamoring for a bite of one of The Florentine’s iconic dishes are about to get the best ending to 2020 imaginable.

Lead by Nick Penzone, the 3rd generation of Penzones, Florentine family-nights will be back before you know it. The kitchen will be open for delivery and pick-up in December and some of your favorite signature dishes will be on the menu. (Please let there be picnic salad friends!)

Penzone shared the news on Facebook, thanking the community for their support over the last four years.

“Thank you for supporting Florentine Legacy the last four years. I’m humbled by what Florentine means to you and can’t begin to put into words how much that means to me. I’m grateful that I have been able to carry on the family business with our pasta sauces and dressing. But I’ve always wanted to do more,” said Nick.

“So here we are. It is time. The Legacy will continue. Soon our kitchen will reopen for delivery and pick-up. While our format will be different, our signature dishes will be back and better than ever. Florentine family nights are on the horizon! I can’t wait to be cooking for all of you again starting this December!”

The new kitchen will be located at 1282 Essex Ave. For more info, you can visit the Florentine Legacy Facebook page here.
