Grove City, get ready to channel your inner lumberjack! Dueling Axes is bringing its signature axe-throwing, beer-drinking, good-time-having vibes to town.
The new location, set to open in mid-2025, is moving into the old Grove City Bowling building at 3940 Broadway, which more recently housed Zassy’s Tap Room. Basically, it’s a space that already knows how to throw a party, and now, it’s adding sharp objects to the mix.
Dueling Axes has a whole aesthetic: dark, moody wood, sleek metal accents, and a setup that makes hurling axes at a target feel a little too natural. The Grove City location will have eight throwing lanes in the back (where the old bowling lanes were), with a fully stocked bar and a brand-new food menu taking over the front.
“Grove City is a vibrant city with amazing history and culture,” said Jess Hellmich, Dueling Axes’ Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder. “The natural charm of the building, the location in Grove City’s downtown area, and the prospect of being neighbors with other complementary businesses aligned perfectly with our growth strategy.”
Axe Throwing, But Make It a Whole Night Out
This isn’t just about throwing sharp things at wood (though, let’s be real, that is the main event).
Dueling Axes Grove City is leaning hard into the whole experience, adding a legit food menu to go with its full-service bar. It’s an upgrade from their original Columbus spot, which started as BYOB back in 2018. Now, they’re all about serving up good drinks, good food, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stick around even if you don’t plan on throwing an axe (no judgment… okay, maybe a little).
And if you’re looking for a little extra flair, the fan-favorite Cosmic Axe Throwing nights are making the cut (pun intended). Every Friday and Saturday, the lanes light up with blacklight-reactive targets, neon axes, and an excuse to wear the most obnoxiously bright outfit you own.

Grove City isn’t the only place getting a Dueling Axes upgrade.
