We know it’s still 90 degrees outside, but there’s never a wrong time to talk about a Columbus holiday tradition.
A Christmas Carol will return to the Ohio Theatre over Thanksgiving weekend — a locally made production that’s quickly become a staple for families kicking off the holiday season together. Presented in collaboration with Short North Stage, the show blends festive nostalgia with fresh theatrical flair.
Directed by Short North Stage Artistic Director Edward Carignan, this homegrown version of the Dickens classic brings 19th-century London to life, complete with period costumes, rich scenery, and a hauntingly beautiful soundscape. Expect familiar carols, musical interludes, and a few surprises that make this retelling feel both timeless and brand new.
It’s the kind of show where you can feel the warmth of the holidays well before the curtain falls — even if you’re the Scrooge in the family.
Performances run November 28–30 at the Ohio Theatre. Tickets start at $26 and go on sale Friday, July 25, at 10 a.m. via capa.com or in person at the CAPA Ticket Center.
Because sure, it’s still summer. But maybe a little holiday cheer — and a reminder that change is always possible — is exactly what we need right now.
