Hills Market Downtown’s Next Chapter Starts With This Local, Minority-Owned Business

Big news, downtown food lovers! There’s a major shake-up happening at The Hills Market Downtown. Starting March 1, 2025, the market will officially be under new management, with local, minority-owned business Charmy’s, LLC taking the reins. If you’ve ever grabbed a meal from Charmy’s Persian Taste inside Hills Market, you already know why this is exciting.

A New Era for Hills Market Downtown

The Hills Market crew has decided to consolidate operations at their Worthington location, leaving the downtown spot in need of new leadership. Enter Sherry and Rezi Bayegan, the powerhouse duo behind Charmy’s.

These two have been serving up delicious Persian dishes inside Hills since 2019, starting as a ghost kitchen pop-up before expanding into catering and kitchen operations. If you’ve had their kebabs, Persian meatballs, or their ridiculously good stews, you know this transition is about to be chef’s kiss.

What’s Next for Charmy’s Market?

With this new opportunity, the Bayegans will officially take over the downtown location, giving it a fresh new identity as Charmy’s Market. They’re bringing big plans to the table, including:

  • High-quality kitchen and catering options
  • Locally sourced meats and Amish produce
  • A wider variety of groceries, including international selections
  • An expanded “grab-and-go” section with fresh, in-house-made items
  • Fun culinary events for food lovers of all ages
  • For Sherry and Rezi, this isn’t just about running a market—it’s the realization of a dream. The couple immigrated to Ohio from Tehran to escape persecution, and with over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, they’re ready to make Charmy’s Market a go-to downtown destination.

“We are incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity,” said Sherry Bayegan. “With the energy and growth happening downtown, we’re excited to build on the momentum of The Hills Market and make Charmy’s Market a welcoming space for residents, visitors, and workers in the area.”

What About Hills Market Gift Cards?

If you’ve got a Hills Market gift card, you can use it at both locations through February 28, 2025. After that, it’ll only be valid at the Worthington location—so plan accordingly!

This transition marks the end of nearly 12 years of The Hills Market Downtown, but the future looks bright. With Charmy’s at the helm, expect the same cozy, community-driven feel with a fresh new flavor.
