Bojangles Is Officially Open In Hilliard

I hope you’re all ready to slam some Southern-style chicken and biscuits.

After a very long wait full of multiple delays, Bojangles has officially opened its doors here in Columbus.

The 831 Hilliard Rome Rd. location is ready and waiting, serving up a limited menu but still, very delicious. Currently there’s no bone-in chicken on the menu, but that’s only temporary.

The Bojangles’ menu boasts an all-day breakfast lineup along with a diverse selection of options, including boneless chicken, biscuit sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and a range of sides such as Bo Fries, dirty rice, and macaroni and cheese. Of course you have to have something a little sweet too, which is wear the Bo-Berry biscuit and a glass of sweet tea come in handy.

Bojangles is expanding to the Columbus market with a planned 15 new restaurants in the area. The expansion is part of a new deal with franchise owner Jeff Rigsby, who plans to open 45 new locations over the next seven years.

The restaurants will be developed around Rigsby’s core markets, including Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and last but not least, Columbus.

“Jeff has been a valued partner of the Bojangles brand for over 20 years, and we could not be more thrilled to extend this business relationship to 45 new locations, including expansion into a new market for our brand,” said Jose Costa, chief development officer for Bojangles. “He embodies what it means to proudly represent this beloved chain, and we are looking forward to many more years of success for Jeff.”

Rigsby joined the chicken-and-biscuits chain back in 1994 as an area supervisor in South Carolina. After a promotion to director of operations, he became a franchisee, buying six stores in Asheville, North Carolina. Since that time, his Bojangles franchise has seen exponential growth across five states. Long story short, we’re in good hands.

“Over the past 20 years, my partnership with Bojangles has been rewarding and full of growth, and this major milestone and accompanying investment deal is a perfect indicator of that,” said Rigsby. “I’m grateful for what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

A second Central Ohio location is being planned at 853 S 30th Street in Heath, according to documents recently filed with the city.

You can keep up with all of the expansion news by visiting the Bojangles website or following them on Facebook and Instagram.
