A Mediterranean treat has opened up in German Village, and you’re going to love it.
Bistrolino Old World Kitchen & Bar is a quaint little restaurant serving up a fusion of Lebanese and Italian cuisine. Located at 495 S. Fourth Street, you’ll remember the spot as the former German Village location of Harvest Pizza. The patio area is absolutely divine and I can’t wait to experience it this spring and summer.
The interior is elegant and rustic, which coincidentally, is how I’d also describe the menu. There were so many delicious options when it came time to order. The menu offers salads, appetizers, flatbreads, side, entrees, and desserts, and I genuinely wanted them all. But since it was lunchtime, we opted for a Diavola Puccia and an order of the Rosemary Chicken and Potatoes.
The Puccia is Italian sandwich bread, sort of like a crispier pita. Inside was filled with spicy capacollo, gorgonzola, mixed greens, and balsamic vinegar. The flavors were perfect and the sandwich was a delight from start to finish.
The other dish we ordered was the Rosemary Chicken. A heaping portion of potatoes covered a perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken breast. I have to admit, I didn’t think the rosemary would be so prevalent in the dish, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.
In addition to the food menu, Bistrolino also serves a variety of wines, including Italian, Lebanese, Greek, and Spanish wines. Everything about our visit to Bistrolino felt genuine and authentic and the staff was incredibly helpful in explaining the dishes and helping us make choices.
I don’t know exactly when I’ll be back to Bistrolino, but I do know that I plan on eating there every opportunity I get. Bistrolino is open daily for sit-down service or carryout from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
