When I say OPA, you say OH-Ya!
Greek cuisine is one of my all-time favorites, and I couldn’t be happier that we have some truly delightful places to get my Mediterranean fix around the city. Whether you’re looking for savory gyros or perfectly flaky baklava, these restaurants will have you feeling like you’re worlds away.
Get ready to embrace all things fresh, my friends. It’s time to explore some of Columbus’s best Greek eateries.

About: Located in the heart of the Short North, Happy Greek is locally owned and family-operated. The lively atmosphere paired with the perfect food is a recipe for success, and we’re happy to eat it up. Whatever you do, be sure to get an order of the Saganaki. Nothing says “fun night out” like hot, creamy cheese.

About: Eating at Yappy Greek is sort of like going to a friend’s house. It’s casual and inviting, and the menu is pretty self-explanatory. If you don’t know what something is, don’t hesitate to ask the staff. They are fantastic. One of my favorite things about Yappy Greek is that you can get 5 gyros for $27. That’s fun for the whole family right there.

King Gyros Greek Restaurant
About: 100% Greek-owned, King Gyros offers a variety of classic Greek dishes as well as authentic family recipes. Gyros, falafel, and juicy lamb chops are all on the menu at King Gyros, but you absolutely can’t leave without having some dessert. Give me all the baklava.

Sababa Mediterranean Grill
About: Sababa Mediterranean Grill may not serve up exclusively Greek food, but they do have some stuff on the menu worth checking out. All of the dishes are wonderful, but there’s nothing like their Greek Chicken Gyro. Sababa is a fast-casual dining experience, so it’s the perfect place to go when you need to satisfy your gyro craving quickly.

About: Mezze serves a blend of Greek & Mediterranean food that is Made-To-Order in a quick-serve, casual atmosphere. The restaurant allows you to pick and choose what goes into your pita, with protein options like lamb, chicken, and tofu. Let’s go people, you’ve got decisions to make.

About: With daily specials that include free kids’ meals and free baklava, I’m sure I don’t have to really sell the amazingness of Eat Greek too much. They have three locations throughout central Ohio and one more on the way, so I don’t want to hear any excuses about how far you’ll have to go to try it out. Also, please get the dolmadakia, aka stuffed grape leaves. You can thank me later.
Address: Various locations.

About: Craving a hot dog and a gyro? Head to Loops. Started by brothers who were missing their Chicago home, they decided to bring that unique blend of flavors to Columbus. The menu is Greek-inspired, offering some traditional dishes like their classic gyro. But going to Loops is about embracing the adventure, so try something interesting like a Gyro Roll.
Address: 1629 Northwest Blvd, Columbus, OH 43212
Anna’s Greek Cuisine
About: Anna’s passion for creating incredible Greek food started when she was a child in Greece. She learned how to make customers happy working at her family’s gyro place on the OSU campus, and she hasn’t stopped since. There are so many delicious things on the menu at Anna’s that we could sit here all day talking about it, but I’ll try to narrow it down. Visit the restaurant on a Saturday so you can have the Saturday Special, which is Baked Lamb Shank served over your choice of Greek spaghetti, rice, or mashed potatoes.
Address: 7370 Sawmill Rd, Dublin, Ohio 43235

The Olive Tree Mediterranean Cafe
About: You’ll find two of my favorite international cuisines on the menu at The Olive Tree: Greek and Lebanese. If you’ve never had Pastitsio, it’s basically Greek lasagne and no one does it better than The Olive Tree. Okay, maybe your grandma, but seriously, no one else.
