You Can Now Camp Overnight On New Backpacking Trail At Battelle Darby Metro Park

Battelle Darby Metro Park has good news for those backpackers looking to hit the trail for the first time.

Battelle Darby Metro Park joins Scioto Grove Metro Park in offering a unique backpacking trail with overnight camping areas. The new area will add 10 miles of primitive backpacking trails and campsites along Big and Little Darby creeks.

The trails and campsites will be available by reservation only and there are some ground rules for camping in the metro park. First of all, you’ll need follow all Leave No Trace policies. The campsites are rustic so you’ll be responsible for bringing everything you will need for your hike with you, including drinking water.

You are allowed to bring your pups backpacking, but they will need to remained leashed while hiking. If you can’t wait to get out and explore the area like never before, you’ll need to make your reservation.
