After 22 Years Downtown, Due Amici Has Closed Its Doors

Another longtime downtown Columbus restaurant has served its final meal.

Due Amici, the Italian restaurant at 67 E. Gay Street, officially closed on June 8 after more than two decades in business. The closure was announced by ownership this week, with the restaurant citing “changing circumstances in downtown” as the reason behind the decision.

Opened in 2004, Due Amici spent 22 years helping shape downtown Columbus’ dining scene during a period of dramatic change for the neighborhood. The restaurant remained a fixture as nearby office towers filled, emptied, and evolved, while Gay Street itself transformed into one of downtown’s most recognizable dining corridors.

In a statement announcing the closure, owner Jeff Glavan thanked the customers, employees, vendors, and partners who supported the restaurant over the years.

“Serving this community has been an extraordinary privilege,” Glavan said. “The relationships we’ve built and the memories we’ve shared will always be the greatest part of Due Amici’s legacy. We are deeply thankful to everyone who has walked through our doors over the past 22 years.”

While the restaurant has stopped regular service, ownership said it will honor events that were already scheduled through June.
