From Dunder Mifflin to The Truth Teller: Ohio Gets Its Own Office-Style Comedy

Ohio is about to get the mockumentary spotlight.

The Paper, a brand-new comedy set in the same universe as The Office, is heading to Peacock this September. Created by Greg Daniels (The Office) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You), the series shifts the documentary crew’s focus from the halls of Dunder Mifflin to the newsroom of a struggling Toledo newspaper, The Truth Teller.

Domhnall Gleeson (The Revenant, Ex Machina) stars as an ambitious, possibly overzealous publisher trying to bring the historic Toledo paper back to life. If you’ve ever worked in local media, or just been on the receiving end of a newsroom group chat, it looks like you’ll feel seen.

In the first image released from the series, Gleeson is pictured rallying a quirky cast of employees from atop a desk.

Look closely, and you might spot a familiar face from The Office: Oscar Nuñez, who played accountant Oscar Martinez, is lurking behind a computer in the background. His role in the new series is still under wraps, but fans are already speculating about what brought him from Scranton to Toledo.

The ensemble also includes Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Chelsea Frei (The Moodys), Melvin Gregg (American Vandal), Gbemisola Ikumelo (A League of Their Own), comedian Alex Edelman, Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever), and the hilarious Tim Key (This Time with Alan Partridge).

While we wait for the September premiere, it might be time for an Office rewatch, which you can catch streaming on Peacock.
