The largest single-day dog festival is back this August.
WAG! Fest will return on Saturday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Prairie Oaks Metro Park. The organizers are expecting thousands of dogs and dog lovers to attend the free festival, where dogs can explore trails, splash around in the lake, and visit booths of dog-related vendors.
“WAG! Fest was initially created as a means to celebrate our canine-human friendships and given the fact that it is returning this year, we definitely have reason to celebrate,” said Mike Poleway, of Event Marketing Group, the company that produces the festival, in a statement. “WAG! Fest is an entertaining and convenient opportunity for dog lovers to find the best products and services for keeping their canine companions strong, healthy and happy all while enjoying the open air of one of central Ohio’s beautiful Metro Parks.”
This year’s in-person festival will have everything from educational advice to live entertainment and contests. The WAG! Marketplace will include exhibits of products & services, samples from pet retailers, doggie day care centers, pet photographers groomers, trainers and more.
The Water Bark Beach is an off-leash swim area where the dogs can splash around, and it’s also where festival-goers will find the Atlas Butler Ice Castle, a cool oasis with over two tons of ice.
You can check out some truly talented pups participating in disc demonstrations, agility performances, and dock diving. Dogs and their owners will also be able to give the Sky Dogs agility course a try where there will be experts on hand to give advice about the sport.
The Darby Bend Lakes Area of Prairie Oaks Metro Park is located at 2755 Amity Road in Hilliard, Ohio. WAG! Fest is produced by Event Marketing Group and hosted by Franklin County Metro Parks. You can get more information about the festival at www.WAGFEST.com.
