Columbus has another one of those strangely familiar headlines to add to the list: a car crashed into a building.
This time, the business on the receiving end was South Village Grille in German Village.
A vehicle crashed into the restaurant Sunday night, causing damage to the building and temporarily forcing the restaurant to close while inspectors evaluated the situation.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.
South Village Grille announced Monday morning that its entire team was safe and that the restaurant would remain closed for lunch while the damage was assessed. A few hours later, they shared some welcome news: they had received the all-clear and would reopen for dinner.
The restaurant thanked the community for the outpouring of support throughout the day, saying the calls, messages, and well wishes were a reminder of “just how lucky we are to call German Village home.”

They also managed to keep their sense of humor.
After announcing they were ready to welcome guests back, South Village Grille ended the update with one simple request:
“We’ll see you tonight. And if we could ask one small favor… please use the front door.”
South Village Grille is located at 197 Thurman Ave. in German Village. You can check out the menu or make a reservation by visiting southvillagegrille.com.
