I absolutely love all ocean creatures.
I credit my high school Marine Biology class with my obsession with saltwater life, and that obsession definitely extends to coral. I think people tend to undervalue these hardworking animals and their important role in the health of our oceans.
Here in Columbus, there’s one place in particular that gives these colorful critters the love they deserve. Reef Systems Coral Farm isn’t your average aquarium. With thousands of gallons of saltwater and over 10,000 pieces of coral for sale, Reef Systems is its own ecosystem. The coral farm specializes in captive-raised corals and saltwater fish.
In their state of the art greenhouse, the farmed coral isn’t just for customers. Reef Systems collaborates with university research projects, including Otterbein University, The Ohio State University, Bowling Green State University, and more.
You can tell just how dedicated the team at Reef Systems is by reading through their bios available on their website. Each one exudes passion for what they do and why wouldn’t they? They get to help bring beauty in the form of gorgeous animals into people’s lives and homes.
Reef Systems is open to the public 5 days a week and whether you’re setting up your very first saltwater tank or you’re an experienced pro, the team there will be able to help you find what you’re looking for. You can learn more by visiting the Reef Systems website here.
