The MilkShake Factory, a beloved dessert shop known for handspun milkshakes and premium small-batch chocolates, is opening its first-ever Columbus location on Saturday, May 31. The shop, located at 1333 N High Street, will sit perfectly between the Short North and Ohio State’s campus, making it an easy treat stop whether you’re a student, a local, or just someone who really loves a good milkshake.
Founded in Pittsburgh with roots dating back to 1914, The MilkShake Factory has built a reputation for blending old-school chocolate craftsmanship with new-school indulgence. This grand opening marks one of two first-ever Ohio locations (the other’s in Mason, near Cincinnati), and a step forward in the brand’s broader national expansion.

The menu is stacked with signature shakes like Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry, Campfire S’mores, and Cookies & Cream, all made with the shop’s proprietary, housemade ice cream. There are also dairy-free shake options, Molten Chocolate Cups, and a full lineup of handcrafted chocolate bark and confections.
And yes—they offer $5 classic shake happy hour every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“We’re excited to bring this to Columbus,” said co-owner Kishore. “It’s not just a milkshake shop—it’s a place people can come to treat themselves, hang out, and create memories.”
