Columbus has changed a lot over the years.
While it can be tempting to hide away all winter long to avoid the cold, sometimes snowy, environment, I’ve always been a big advocate for getting outside and embracing the season.
I’ve long maintained that Columbus could do even more to keep people engaged throughout the winter months, and some of the places making the biggest efforts to keep the good vibes running all year long are our local breweries.

Land-Grant Brewing has the perfect way to spend a clear winter’s eve. In Land-Grant’s Wintergarden, visitors will be able to enjoy a local brew, play some brewery curling, and relax in a toasty, private igloo with the squad.
Brewery Curling is the star of the show on the 1,300 square-foot ice rink in the Beer Garden at Land-Grant. Matches are 90 minutes long and involve taking turns sliding kegs across the ice to a target!

When you book a time for Brewery Curling, you also get access to a nearby igloo where you can warm up. Curling is kid and dog friendly, but the brewery is 21+ after 8 p.m., so you’ll need to make your reservation for earlier in the day if you plan on bringing the kids.
If you think staying cozy in the Igloo sounds like fun but you could skip the brewery curling, you’re in luck. You can book just the igloos at Land-Grant for two-hour sessions. Igloos are $30 Friday-Sunday and $20 Monday-Thursday.

Land-Grant Brewing Company is located at 424 W. Town St. in Franklinton. You can start planning your visit to the Wintergarden by visiting landgrantbrewing.com/wintergarden.
