Cameron Mitchell Restaurants Is Expanding To Bexley With A Familiar Favorite

A new chapter for Main Street in Bexley is starting to take shape. Hudson 29 is joining The Fitzgerald development, bringing one of Columbus’ most popular dining spots into the heart of the neighborhood.

Hudson 29 has spent the last decade becoming one of those restaurants Columbus diners recommend almost automatically.

Now the Cameron Mitchell concept is heading to Bexley, where it will anchor one of the suburb’s most high-profile new developments.

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants announced this week that Hudson 29 Kitchen + Drink will open a third Central Ohio location at The Fitzgerald, a new mixed-use development rising at 2200 E. Main St. The restaurant is expected to open in spring 2027.

The Fitzgerald is bringing apartment living, retail space, rooftop gathering areas, courtyards, and new pedestrian traffic into a corridor already known for its historic charm and walkability. Located steps from Capital University and downtown Bexley, the development is designed to blend modern amenities with the character of the neighborhood surrounding it.

The 5,500-square-foot restaurant will include indoor dining plus a covered and heated patio intended for year-round use. Guests will also have access to parking directly behind the development.

“We’re proud to bring Hudson 29 to Bexley and be part of the momentum surrounding The Fitzgerald development,” said David Miller, president and COO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and a Bexley resident.

The original Hudson 29 opened at The Lane in Upper Arlington in 2014 before expanding to New Albany a year later.

Since then, the restaurant has built a loyal following around its polished but approachable atmosphere, extensive wine list, and flexible menu that works equally well for brunch, burgers, oysters, or celebratory dinners.

That neighborhood-driven approach makes Bexley feel like a natural fit. Additional details, including construction timelines and hiring information, are expected closer to opening. For more info, head over to hudson29.com.
