There are some unique places to camp around Ohio.
From state park campgrounds to fancy yurts, it’s easy to get adventurous here in the Buckeye State. I’ve had the opportunity to explore some really fantastic places through the years, but nothing has me as excited as this unique aquatic adventure in Troy.
Located at Treasure Island Park, Float Troy is a one-of-a-kind way to spend a weekend. The tents are inflatable floating rafts with tent toppers that allow guests to spend the night under the stars on the water.
The historic area along the levy of the Great Miami River sets the perfect scene for this tranquil camping experience, offering easy access to paved trails for biking and running, rentable watercraft, and more.
The tents are available for $95 per night and each rental includes your floating tent, watercraft to get to the tent, oars, and life jackets.
Each tent has a capacity of either four adults or two adults and two children. If you’re bringing the kids along on this epic adventure, they will need to be supervised at all times. It’s recommended that campers bring sleeping bags and pillows, sunscreen, plenty of water, a waterproof bag for your phone and keys, and a trash bag to make sure any trash you may create leaves with you.
If you’re interested in booking a stay, be sure to visit the Float Troy website soon. Spots for the summer are filling up incredibly quickly. If you don’t get in this year, don’t worry. This is an annual summer opportunity and it will be back in 2023.
Float Troy is located at Treasure Island Park, 409 N. Elm St., Troy, Ohio, 45373.
