You’re book buying budget is about to get a little roomier.

Okay, maybe not everyone loves reading as much as I do and requires a monthly book budget. But just in case, I had to tell you about this upcoming book sale.

The Friends of the Columbus Metropolitan Library are hosting one of my personal favorite events, the annual Big Book Sale. The presale for Friends of the Library members begins on Thursday, October 11 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

For those non-members, the General Sale will take place Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The annual Big Book Sale allows visitors to purchase books and library materials that are no longer suitable for the library’s collection.

Prices for books and materials start at:

  • Children’s books: $1
  • Paperback books: $2
  • Hardback books: $3
  • CDs: $2
  • DVDS: $3
  • Proceeds from the Big Book Sale will benefit the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s programs and services.

Maybe I can finally buy enough books to warrant one of those cool library ladders!
