Escape It Grandview is celebrating its 10th anniversary by turning Central Ohio into one giant puzzle.
The escape room company recently announced Quest for the X, a one-day treasure hunt that sends teams across the region solving clues, uncovering hidden locations, and competing for a share of a $5,000 cash prize.
The event takes place on Sunday, July 19, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Organizers say the hunt was designed to be completed in a single afternoon, giving every registered team a realistic chance to reach the finish.
“Escape rooms are exciting because they are challenging but solvable,” owner Rob Mesler said in a statement. “That is exactly what we wanted for Quest for the X. We wanted to create a community adventure that feels big, exciting, and rewarding, but not impossible.”
Teams will receive their first clues online before heading out to locations across Central Ohio.
Along the way, participants will solve puzzles, rely on observation, and work together to unlock the next stage of the hunt. The top three teams will split the $5,000 prize pool.
Participants should bring a smartphone with internet access and GPS, comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and plenty of water since the hunt will take place rain or shine.
Registration is $80 per team, and spots are limited. Every registered team will also receive a discount code for a future Escape It Grandview experience.
