There’s exciting food news on the horizon for German Village.
Cento, a new high-end Italian restaurant from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, will open its doors later this month.
The restaurant is named in honor of the fact that this is the 100th restaurant concept from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Located at 595 S. 3rd Street in German Village, the site was formerly home to G. Michael’s Bistro, which closed back in 2021, leaving a hole in the community that Cento hopes to fill.
“Experience the magical combination of Italian hospitality and artisanal cocktails at Cento. Let our skilled bartenders transport you to the heart of Italy, where the art of mixology is appreciated as much as the cuisine. We look forward to welcoming you as our guest on August 22,” the restaurant’s statement reads.
Wondering what kind of grub you can expect at Cento? Well, wonder no more. Although the menu at the restaurant isn’t specific to one particular region in Italy, that doesn’t mean they aren’t striving for authenticity.
Dishes you can expect to see on the menu include branzino, veal parmesan, mussels, risotto with truffle oil, and so much more.
Of course, you can’t talk about fine, Italian dining without mentioning the dessert. The dessert menu includes 4 dishes that sound downright incredible, including panna cotta, tiramisu, limoncello tart, and chocolate hazelnut torte.
If the food wasn’t enough to entice you, I think we should talk about the cocktail menu before we wrap things up. I’m a sucker for a good martini, which you’ll find on the menu among some other classics like a cosmopolitan, negroni, paloma, and Cento’s beautiful old fashioned.
Cento will officially open on August 22. Reservations aren’t available quite yet, but they will be soon. Want to know what’s going on at the restaurant in the meantime?
