Another Solar Eclipse Is Coming In 2024– And Columbus Has An Amazing View

Did you miss the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017? Or maybe it just wasn’t as intense as you were expecting. The next one was closer than you think.

In 2024, another total solar eclipse swept across America, and that time, Ohio was directly in the path of totality. Northern Cincinnati, Dayton, Northern Columbus, and Cleveland, along with other major cities in the state, experienced total darkness for a variety of durations.

On April 8, 2024, the eclipse swept from Texas to Maine.

Although the points of greatest duration and greatest eclipse were in Mexico, the view from the Buckeye state was good. Areas along the path of totality experienced the event for nearly 4 minutes.
