Spring is in the air, and with it comes the riot of colors that can only mean one thing in Central Ohio: it’s almost tulip time!
Each spring, Timbuk Farms fills four acres with more than 500,000 tulips for its annual festival. It’s colorful, a little chaotic on peak weekends, and absolutely worth seeing in person.
The festival typically kicks off in mid-April, with exact dates depending on when the flowers decide to cooperate. Farming is a little at the mercy of Mother Nature, so bloom times can shift. If you want to catch the fields at their peak, keeping an eye on Timbuk’s social channels is a smart move.
Here’s what you can expect once the gates open.

More than 500,000 tulips in just about every color imaginable. Rows and rows of them. The kind of view that makes you stop mid-sentence. You can wander the fields, take all the photos your camera roll can handle, and even pick your own stems for $1 each.
Beyond the flowers, the festival leans fully into springtime fun. There’s live music on weekends and select Fridays, food trucks serving up local favorites, and a lineup of family-friendly activities. Kids can burn off energy at the Fun Farm with rides, games, a giant jump pad, and a bobsled slide. There are also local artisans, photo contests, and plenty of excuses to stay longer than you planned.

Make sure to keep an eye on their Facebook, Instagram, and website for field updates as bloom time approaches. The flowers wait for no one, and you’ll want to catch them at their peak.
Tickets run $15.95 on Fridays through Sundays and $12.50 Monday through Thursday. Kids under two get in free. If you’ve been before, you already know they go quickly once peak bloom hits.
Hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving you plenty of time to wander, pick, snack, and repeat.

If you’re craving color, fresh air, and a reminder that Ohio really does show off in the spring, Tulip Festival season at Timbuk Farms is almost here. For more info, head over to timbuk.com.
