Looking To Add A Little Greenery To Your Life? Visit The Plant Library In Gahanna

2020 has brought out all sorts of new hobbies for people.

Personally, I’ve gotten into gardening a little bit more. I’m not an expert at all. In fact, I think calling myself a novice is sometimes generous, but I enjoy it and I’m trying, and that’s what it’s all about, right?

Introducing new plants to your life brings a lot of joy, but it can also turn into an expensive hobby fairly quickly. That’s why places like The Plant Library in Gahanna are so special. This little space in downtown Gahanna is community-driven, with a ‘take a plant, leave a plant’ mindset, meaning there are free plants up for grabs.

It’s not a hard and fast rule that you have to leave a plant, but contributing something to the project when you can’t leave a plant, like planting and gardening supplies, is always appreciated.

Getting The Plant Library project up and running again was spearheaded by local residents Karen Teegardin and Diane Kagy and it’s housed in a former car wash at Blank Slate Coffee in downtown Gahanna. The library will remain open through the summer and fall for fresh fruit and veggie swaps as well.

You can find updates about items being donated to The Plant Library in Gahanna’s gardening group on Facebook. The Plant Library is located at 152 Mill St. in Gahanna.

Am I the only one thinking that every neighborhood needs a plant library? Get ready for your plant obsession to intensify, Columbus.
