13 Perfect Pumpkin Patches To Check Out Around Columbus

Picking the perfect pumpkin can have its challenges.

Maybe you need a giant pumpkin to carve the most massive jack-o-lantern on your street. Or perhaps your family is more into painting pumpkins, so you’re looking for a perfectly symmetrical pumpkin.

It doesn’t matter what kind of pumpkin you’re searching for, you can bet that you’ll find it at one of these pumpkin patches around Central Ohio. Most of these farms are within an hour of downtown, and several charge nothing to walk in and buy a pumpkin; the admission fee, where there’s one, covers the hayrides, mazes and slides. Dates and prices below were checked in mid-September. Farms change them with the weather, so their Facebook pages have the final word.

Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm

via Facebook

With roughly 40 acres of pumpkins and gourds, Lehner’s is the biggest patch on this list. There are pre-picked and washed pumpkins in the yard, or you can head out to the 15-acre patch to pick your own. The 2026 season runs September 19 through October 31: Saturdays and Sundays 10 to 7 with every activity running, Tuesday through Thursday evenings 4:30 to 7 at reduced admission with fewer activities open, plus select Mondays and Fridays in October. Admission is $14 on weekends and bonus days and $7 on weeknights, and it’s free if all you’re doing is buying pumpkins from the yard or shopping the gift shop. One wrinkle: picking from the patch on a weekend requires admission, but weeknight picking doesn’t.

Miller’s Country Gardens

No matter what you need a pumpkin for, you can find it at Miller’s Country Gardens. They pile up a massive heap of pre-picked pumpkins you can dig through any day the market’s open, and on October weekends the hay wagon runs out to the field for pick-your-own. There’s no admission and the wagon ride is free; you pay only for the pumpkins. Fall hours are Wednesday through Saturday 9 to 6 and Sunday noon to 5, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The farm’s own site hasn’t been updated for this season, so check its Facebook page for wagon days before you drive out.

Hann Farms Market

Hann Farms Market is a quick jaunt south of Downtown on Lockbourne Road. The market runs from May through the end of October, and by fall the tables are stacked with pumpkins of every shape and size along with gourds, corn stalks and straw bales. The pumpkins here are already gathered from the field, so this is the stop for a pumpkin without a hayride attached. In-season hours are 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 on Sunday. They take cash and checks with ID, and credit cards and Apple Pay now work too.
Location: 4600 Lockbourne Rd, Columbus

Jacquemin Farms

This family farm has grown produce in Plain City since 1987. The market on Hyland-Croy Road is open Tuesday through Friday 9 to 6 and Saturday 9 to 5, closed Sunday and Monday, through October 31, with pumpkins, gourds, mums and apple cider. Pick-your-own happens at a separate 15-acre patch at 11430 Industrial Parkway in Marysville, not at the market, so plug in the right address. The patch opens on weekends once the pumpkins are ready, and the farm posts the dates on Facebook.

Lynd Fruit Farm

Lynd Fruit Farm offers both pre-picked pumpkins at the Market on Morse and pick-your-own in several patches on the main farm in Pataskala. The patches generally open the last week of September (the farm’s site lists September 25 as the tentative start) and stay open until they sell out, which often happens within a few weeks, so don’t wait for late October. Bring a car: there’s a $15 per car fee that’s waived once you buy $15 worth of pumpkins. While you’re out there, Maze Fest runs down the road at 9851 Morse Road, Fridays through Sundays through November 1.
Location: 9399 Morse Rd SW, Pataskala

Pigeon Roost Farm

Pigeon Roost Farm is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 to 7, from September 12 through October 31. The pumpkins are brought in from the fields and laid out in the barnyard, and browsing the market and the pumpkin area costs nothing. The Great Pumpkin Fun Center is $12 a person (under 2 free) and covers the corn maze, the obstacle course, the farm animals and the kiddie zipline. One heads-up for cash carriers: the farm takes credit cards only.

Leeds Farm

Leeds Farm sits northwest of Columbus in Ostrander and runs weekends only, Saturdays and Sundays 10 to 5, from September 19 through October 25, plus one Friday on October 16. General admission is $16 online or $20 at the gate in September and $20 or $24 in October, with adults 55 and over paying $5; the Big Zip costs extra. The pumpkin fields aren’t open for picking because they rotate with other crops, so you choose from pre-picked pumpkins in the barnyard, priced by size. The combine slide and the pig races alone will keep the kids busy past the hayride.

Hidden Creek Farms

Head out to Sunbury for Hidden Creek Farms’ fall weekends. The market side is now run by Bambi’s Farm Market and is open daily, and that’s where all the pumpkins are, along with gourds, Indian corn and straw bales. The Fall Fun Activities run Saturdays and Sundays from late September into early November, with a hayride around the farm, the Great Pumpkin Slide, a straw maze in the big red barn and the farm animals. Admission was $10 last year for ages 2 and up. The farm hadn’t posted its 2026 dates as of mid-September, so check its Facebook page before you go.

Van Buren Acres

Ready to get lost in a corn maze or ride the Cow-train? Van Buren Acres runs September 12 through November 1, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 to 7, weather permitting. Admission is $12 with kids 2 and under free, and it covers the maze, the jumping pillow, the hayrides and most everything else on the farm. You don’t need a ticket just to pick pumpkins from the U-Pick field, eat at the Barnyard Cafe or shop the store. A $28 season pass throws in a coupon for one U-Pick pumpkin.

Circle S Farms

Circle S Farms is home to one of my favorite pumpkin patches around Central Ohio. That may be because I grew up going here with my family, or just because it’s awesome. Either way, it should definitely make your shortlist of pumpkin patch contenders. Take the hayride, stop by the petting zoo, and enjoy a full day of fall at the “family fun farm”. Pumpkin season starts September 24 this year, and the farm is open Thursday through Sunday, 9 to 7, through October 25. General admission is $11 (kids 2 and under free) and covers the hayride, the fun barn, the corn maze and the bale crawl; pumpkins are $5 each on top. They take cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, no checks.
Location: 9015 London Groveport Rd, Grove City

Lohstroh Family Farms

Lohstroh suits people who want to walk a field, not a parking lot. The wagon runs out to the pumpkin patch continuously from 10 to 5:30 on Saturdays and Sundays, September 19 through November 1, and you pick your own right off the vine. There’s no general admission or parking fee; the pumpkin wagon is $11 a person, and the corn maze and tractor train are $4 each. The family farm in Mt. Sterling also hosts a kids’ entrepreneur market on opening Saturday and farm-school mornings through the fall. Pumpkin prices aren’t posted online, so check the farm’s Facebook page before you go.
Location: 15632 State Route 56 SE, Mt. Sterling

Dupler’s Pumpkin Land

via Facebook

Dupler’s bills itself as the most affordable fall farm in central Ohio, and the price list backs that up: $5 a person for the activity wristband, kids 2 and under free, with weekend wagon rides $3 extra. The pumpkins are priced one by one on looks and stem rather than by weight, which keeps the big ones from getting silly, and the specialty patch runs to pink, blue, white and red. The farm is east of Newark and runs every day through October 31, Sunday through Friday noon to 7 and Saturdays 10 to 7, with the mystery maze, the giant slides and the animals all on the wristband.
Location: 5766 Jacksontown Rd, Newark

The Orchard & Company

via Facebook

The Orchard & Company is the apple-picking farm on U.S. 42 that also does pumpkins, so one Saturday covers both. Pumpkins are sold from the straw-castle display by the market rather than picked from a field. The farmyard pass is $15 (seniors $5, 2 and under free) and buys the tractor-drawn wagon ride, the corn pit, the jumping pillows and the zip line; you don’t need it to buy pumpkins or apples. Fall hours are Saturdays and Sundays only, 11 to 6, through October 31, and the cafe’s pumpkin donuts are the reason to stay past the wagon ride.
