Fat Arnie’s is growing.
The family behind one of Clintonville’s most talked about sandwich shops has announced the opening of Fat Arnie’s Provecho, a new concept headed to 20 S. State St. in Uptown Westerville.

While the new restaurant shares the Fat Arnie’s name, it won’t simply be a second location.
According to the announcement shared on social media, Fat Arnie’s Provecho will have its own identity, its own menu, and a different approach to service. The new restaurant will primarily focus on takeout and delivery, making it easier for customers to enjoy the restaurant’s food at home, at work, or wherever they’re gathering.
The original Fat Arnie’s Sandwich Shop inside Rafters in Clintonville isn’t changing. The family says they’ll continue serving the sandwiches, staples, and ever-changing specials that have built such a loyal following over the past year.
The menu at Fat Arnie’s Provecho will continue to grow and change over time, with one familiar item bridging both concepts: the empanadas that helped put Fat Arnie’s on the map.

The name “Provecho” also reflects the direction of the new concept.
Commonly heard around dinner tables throughout Latin America, “provecho” is a way of wishing someone enjoyment of their meal and the company they’re sharing it with. In announcing the restaurant, the Beardman family said that’s the kind of experience they hope to create with the new venture.
The expansion marks another milestone for what has always been a true family business. Fat Arnie’s is operated by brothers Andrew and Christopher Beardman alongside their father, Chris Beardman, with wives, parents, and extended family all helping keep the restaurant running.
No opening date has been announced yet, but the family says they’ll be sharing menu previews, updates, and behind-the-scenes looks as Fat Arnie’s Provecho gets closer to welcoming its first customers.
Until then, Clintonville fans can rest easy. Fat Arnie’s Sandwich Shop isn’t going anywhere.
