A Full-Scale Titanic Hotel Could Dock In Columbus By 2028

Columbus might soon be home to a hotel experience unlike any other.

One that aims to channel the luxury, design, and drama of the early 1900s. Unsinkable Hotels, a new hospitality concept from the Historical Hospitality Group, plans to build a boutique hotel that reimagines life aboard the RMS Titanic, but safely on land.

The proposed $30 million project, still in the fundraising stage, would feature about 50 staterooms, fine dining modeled after the ship’s first-class saloon, a rooftop bar, and a Turkish bath–style spa. The concept promises “all the comforts you’d expect from an upscale hotel,” wrapped in Gilded Age glamour.

Founder and CEO Andrew Messing, a lifelong history enthusiast, says his fascination with the Titanic inspired the venture.

“The Gilded Age is calling. After years of planning and preparation, we’re thrilled to officially soft launch Unsinkable Hotels,” Messing shared on social media. “This isn’t just a boutique hotel; it’s an immersive experience that will transport passengers back to an era of unparalleled luxury and architectural grandeur, inspired by the legendary RMS Titanic.” He added that Unsinkable’s “home port” is Columbus, Ohio, where the company is “committed to more than just an unforgettable upscale stay.”

Developers have yet to finalize a site, but Unsinkable’s website notes that the hotel would rise within a Qualified Opportunity Zone in the Columbus area—an incentive designed to spur investment and redevelopment. The company plans to release additional updates and concept art in the coming months.

Of course, this Titanic-inspired getaway promises only the fun parts of the voyage—no third-class bunks, no icy waters, and definitely no icebergs on the Scioto.

If it sails forward, Unsinkable Hotels Columbus could become one of the city’s most distinctive stays—bringing a piece of turn-of-the-century opulence to the heart of the Midwest.
