Five-Time Grammy Winner Samara Joy Is Coming to Columbus For A One-Night-Only Performance

ProMusica Chamber Orchestra is bringing serious star power to Columbus next spring.

The award-winning ensemble has announced that jazz vocalist Samara Joy will headline their 2026 Soirée Benefit & Concert on March 23, 2026.

This marks Joy’s first performance in Columbus, and she’ll take the stage at the Southern Theatre alongside ProMusica under the direction of guest conductor Andrew Grams.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Samara Joy as our 2026 Soirée guest artist,” said ProMusica CEO Janet Chen. “She’s already making a profound impact in the jazz world, and it’s an honor to perform with her for this one-night-only event.”

Joy’s rise has been rapid and well-earned.

After growing up singing R&B and gospel, she shifted to jazz in college before releasing her self-titled debut album in 2021. Her follow-up, Linger Awhile, swept the Grammys with wins for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best New Artist. Since then, she’s released a holiday EP and her latest album, Portrait, earning an NAACP Image Award for Best Jazz Album.

Sharing the stage with Joy is conductor Andrew Grams, known internationally for his dynamic presence and acclaimed work with orchestras around the world, from Chicago and Detroit to France, Hong Kong, and London.

The Soirée is ProMusica’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting their artistic programming and community outreach.

The evening kicks off with a party at the Westin Great Southern Hotel Ballroom at 5:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Southern Theatre.
