Snow lovers, you better listen up! Mad River Mountain, Ohio’s largest ski resort, is officially kicking off the 2025/26 winter season on Friday, December 12, at 3 p.m.
Whether you’re a seasoned skier, a first-time rider, or just looking for some snowy fun, this season promises exciting new experiences and classic winter vibes.
What’s New This Year?

Mad River Mountain made a few behind-the-scenes upgrades that should make the whole experience smoother.
The main lift got new hardware that helps it run more reliably, which means fewer slowdowns on busy days. The grooming team also added a new machine that improves snow quality across the slopes. In short, the mountain should feel a little more polished this year, especially early in the season.
Can’t-Miss Signature Events
The resort calendar is already filling up with returning crowd favorites. Midnight Madness brings late night skiing on Fridays in January and February with discounted lift tickets and rental specials. Epic Pass holders can take advantage of First Tracks on January 24 for early access to open terrain.
Families can stop by on Sundays for Buckeye S’mores near the patio fire pits and February 15 features a hot chocolate bar at no cost to guests. More information on events like The Loft Music Series, Rail Jam, and Family Fest will be shared soon.
