If your usual movie night is starting to feel like déjà vu (how many times can we rewatch Hereditary?), the Wexner Center for the Arts is coming to your rescue with international horror, no passport required.
Running July 10 through August 14, the International Horror series is turning Thursday and Saturday nights into a cinematic scream-fest. The lineup features everything from creepy animated oddities to stylish slashers and cult classics you probably haven’t seen and definitely won’t find streaming on Netflix.
But this isn’t just horror for horror’s sake.
The series is a full-on genre world tour, showing how fear translates across cultures and decades. Whether you’re into chilling atmosphere, psychological tension, or straight-up gore, there’s something on the schedule that’ll haunt your dreams in the best way. To help you find your comfort (or discomfort) level, each film comes with its own “goreometer” rating. Genius.

There’s also a community element baked in—select screenings will feature intros from Columbus-based film folks and local horror buffs. And if you’re a planner (or just really competitive), you can grab a series pass, which comes with a Wex swag bag, a screening checklist, and the chance to win prizes from Seventh Son Brewing, the series sponsor.

Whether you’re a seasoned horror head or just horror-curious, the International Horror series is a reminder that a scream is the same in every language. And that summer is a great time to sit in the dark and get a little freaked out. See the full lineup + grab tickets here.
