How A Local Zanesville Couple Lost And Retrieved $100,000

Would you return $100,000 in cold cash if you found it?

Humanity once again proved that there are indeed people much better than me in the world. According to the Times Recorder, workers at a Zanesville Goodwill found nearly $100,000 in a box of donated housewares last week.

After confirming that the bills weren’t actually fake toy money, the employees sought to get a hold of the original donors. Fortunately, their contact information was labeled clearly on the box.

After a repeated series of calls and messages, the Leckrone family was finally contacted and reunited with their missing dollar bills at a local police station. It’s a heartwarming testament to the virtues of the human spirit, which is great and all, but let’s be real: $100,000 could have bought a lot of things that would have eased my conscience. And now, here’s a brief list of those very things:

  • The Gilmore Girls Blu-Ray Series Box Set
  • Fine Leather Goods
  • The Original First Volume of “Amazing Spider-Man”
  • An Arm Chair Made Entirely Out Of Crystal
  • An Inordinate Amount Of Chipotle
