On March 15, a new bar will officially open in German Village.
Wunderbar, which shares it’s 739 S. 3rd St. location with coworking space Kollektiv, has taken over the old Max & Erma’s in German Village. The food coming out of the kitchen will be the always delicious Pierogi Mountain, which just may well be the best drunk food in Columbus.
The bar’s seating area acts as co-working space during the day, but once the clock strikes 4 p.m., Wunderbar takes over.
Wunderbar will offer specialty cocktails, including a few that pay homage to their historical location like The Erma (Vim and Petal Gin, Pear Liqueur, Pear Tea, Citrus, and Soda) and The Village (Middle West Wheat Whiskey, Vermouth, Cardamom, and smoke).
Pierogi Mountain will have a variety of food options, including a considerable vegan-friendly menu! For those looking for quick bites, they offer pierogi’s for $1.50 each and they come with sour cream and caramelized onions!
If an entree is more your speed, you can snag some Chicken Paprikash, Mushroom Stroganoff, or Haluski. Their sausages are made in house and come in pork and seitan (wheat-based vegan option).
Wunderbar will be open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting March 15. Pierogi Mountain will share the hours for dining in, but they are already offering delivery and pick-up, starting daily at 11 a.m. Delivery available through Grubhub, Postmates and UberEATS.
