It’s been well over a year since there’s been a large concert or music festival in Columbus, but that’s about to change.
WonderBus Music & Arts Festival will return to The Lawn at CAS the last weekend of August. The site for the festival is 54 acres of open-air, outdoor space which will allow festival goers to spread out and enjoy the music safely.
The line-up is pretty stellar this year. On Saturday, August 28, Kesha, AJR, The Band CAMINO and more will take the stage to welcome us all back into the world of live music. On Sunday, August 29, Wilco will be making their only appearance in Ohio in 2021. In fact, it’s their only appearance in the region this year. Also performing on Sunday is Grouplove, Black Pumas, and more.
WonderBus is an all-ages festival with live music, tasty culinary options, a robust artisan village, and more. The festival, CAS and The Shipyard will be continuing their relationship with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health. The team will continue to leverage the power of live music as a vehicle to promote and raise funds for mental health initiatives focused on recovery and resilience. WonderBus and CAS have guaranteed a share of revenue to help the Medical Center’s programs.
“The WonderBus Music and Arts Festival’s mission is to shine a light on mental health issues through its support of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “The results of the WonderBus Music and Arts Festival will help many in recovery.”
Due to the evolving guidance from the State of Ohio regarding capacity for live events, there will be a reduced number of tickets available on a first come, first served basis. Festival organizers are hopeful that as the fight against COVID-19 continues, they’ll be able to add more tickets between now and August.
In addition to following state and county health & safety guidelines, the festival is also working with Germ-X to create an aggressive and innovative reopening platform.
“On behalf of the entire Germ-X team, I want to communicate to fans that Germ-X is excited to support safe reopening of music festivals across the country,” said Darren Baker, President and Chief Operating Officer at Vi-Jon, LLC, the maker of Germ-X. “We will be providing complimentary samples of Germ-X to festivalgoers at entry points. We will also be providing other Germ-X products as additional support during WonderBus.”
If COVID-19 forces a postponement or cancellation of the festival, ticket refunds will absolutely be an option for each buyer.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 15 at 12 p.m. Single Day tickets are available for $89.00. Weekend passes are $159.00. You can click here for more details.
